The Vision

Horoirangi will fundamentally reshape New Zealand’s seafood and aquaculture industry by providing a world class facility where research and development providers, the seafood industry and commercial enterprises can work collaboratively.

Horoirangi will be a place that fosters innovation, where new products and species will be trialled and new processes and systems developed to drive industry growth.

The Plan

Enabling Infrastructure Development:
The immediate focus is to establish key enabling infrastructure assets being a 120 ha commercial aquaculture zone and a research and development and education campus.

Commercial Activities:
Development work has been undertaken on various land based algae, shellfish and fin fish species which would require an initial 14ha of the commercial land to develop full scale production.

We will attract local and international investment partners, providing the opportunity to participate at ground level.
